We had a meal.there last night having not been for many years. Even though we're local for some reason we've been missing out on this little gem.
The ambiance, decor, and rooms are really well finished. We were in the dog friendly bar which was welcoming and warm.
Well done to the bar staff, we felt looked after without overpowering hosting.
As for the food...well it was all amazing!!!
Well done on all parts. It's good to see a local village pub being well run with a busy buzzing atmosphere!!!

Stopped here for lunch when we were driving through Egton. Never been before but will absolutely be returning. Lovely staff. Immaculate bar area and beautifully decorated restaurant area with a log burner so it was nice and cosy. Immaculately clean. Very modern and clean toilets too. We had Whitby scampi and it was fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to return.

Really great food, prices for starters and mains quite fair, nice beer too.
Puddings were quite pricey, but no problem, they're optional and the superb main courses are excellent. Fish pies especially good..

We came here the other day for food after visiting another nearby place which was awful, and the service here was fantastic from when we called to book a table to when we left. The young lad behind the bar was very helpful and friendly he was really informative and made us feel welcome, and the other guy in there was very nice too, making sure we'd got drinks etc. Can't fault anything really and we have recommended you to people we've got chatting to. When we come back to this area we'd definitely visit again.

Great meal, always delivers to impress here, slight mix up on there behalf with bookings but they did all they could to put it right. Would recommend for a great meal and great service.

Lovely pub, wish we'd found it sooner. Thought we were just ordering beef sandwiches and chips and there was that much food we had to take some back to the caravan for tea. Best bit of beef I've had in years. Would like to have gone back for a meal but we're returning home .

I had an excellent fish pie and a Nutella Cheese Cake with Vanilla Ice. Both courses were extraordinary, and I am afraid that I can't resist to choose them again when I return on my next travel. It would be a pity to miss other mindblowing opportunities. I will come back for sure!

Probably one of the best meals I have ever had and that is high praise from a foodie! Even the vegetables were lovely on their own although their thick cut chips were not to my taste. Well worth a visit!
Update: we went again tonight. The Timmy Taylor's was absolutely on point and how they elevate garlic bread with goats cheese to the standard they do is beyond me! Absolutely fantastic and thanks to the team👍

After an afternoon sightseeing on the moors, we stopped for a break and refreshments. Could be a friendlier welcome, with the service. The weather was 24° so we sat on the benches out front and baked. It's great to just watch the world go by.

Old pub in a small village. The atmosphere is good and very smart and clean with friendly staff. 3 beers on the bar and food is served, great pub.

We came across the wheatsheaf having a drive round and what a discovery the food was outstanding the best belly pork I've ever had, can't explain how good the food is here.

Sunday lunch at the Wheatsheaf Inn is on another level second to none. Just perfect from start to finish, upon arrival my partner and I were greeted by very friendly staff and quickly shown to our pre booked table for two. Quality food that's cooked to a high standard and served by polite and friendly professional servers. The beef was cooked to perfection and the home made Yorkshire puddings were divine.
Desert was homemade apple and seasonal fruits crumble, Amazing!!!
Can't wait to return.
